Erika van ‘t Veld is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Delaware, pursuing a double major in Energy and Environmental Policy, with minors in Mathematics and German. Her main interests are development economics and energy economics, particularly promoting international development through expanding access to renewable energy. Her current work for the Department of Energy’s Industrial Assessment Center branch at UD and the Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility initiative involves completing energy audits for industrial and commercial buildings, writing assessment recommendations, and submitting reports to clients. Her main aspiration in life is to live and travel in developing countries, conducting research on policies that promote renewable energy as a way to help bring people out of poverty.
