Contact Dr. Jeongseok Seo

Dr. Jeongseok Seo is the Research Director at the East Asia Research Center of the Foundation for Renewable Energy and Environment. He serves as an Advisor at Kim & Chang and an adjunct professor at Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea.

He actively seeks to engage in policy design and public discussion of carbon neutrality, renewable energy, circular economy, and energy efficiency. His latest works include policy reports for the National Assembly and the Ministry of Environment on the challenges of the Korean electricity system and market and the feasible approaches to address them to expedite the deployment of renewable energy in South Korea. He has also provided numerous Korean corporations with policy and technical advice regarding how to develop their carbon neutrality and renewable energy strategies.  He also participates in two to three research projects on energy efficiency policy and finance as a project manager or a researcher on an annual basis.

He earned a Ph.D. from the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, University of Delaware and an MA in Climate and Society at Columbia University in New York. Energy and Environment. He also serves as Director of the Sustainable Energy Division at BNZ Partners, Seoul, South Korea.

Previously, he was a Senior Legislative Officer to a National Assembly Member. He also worked for the Korea Sustainability Investing Forum (KoSIF) and the Korea Productivity Center (KPC) where he helped Korean public and private sector organizations develop climate change and sustainability strategies and disclose their climate and sustainability performance through CDP and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). 

He actively seeks to engage in policy design and public discussion of carbon neutrality, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. His latest works include policy reports for the National Assembly and the Ministry of Environment on the challenges of the Korean electricity system and market and the feasible approaches to address them to expedite the deployment of renewable energy in South Korea. He has also provided several Korean large corporations with policy and technical advice regarding how to develop their carbon neutrality and renewable energy strategies.  He also participates in two to three research projects on energy efficiency policy and finance as a project manager or a researcher on an annual basis. He is a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).

He earned a Ph.D. from the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, University of Delaware and an MA in Climate and Society at Columbia University in New York.
