Contact Dr. Manu Verghese Mathai
Dr. Manu V. Mathai is Associate Professor in the School of Development at Azim Premji University. He has been a Research Fellow (Assistant Professor) at the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) in the Science and Technology for Sustainability Societies Program and a visiting Assistant Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology Department of Science, Technology and Society/Public Policy. He was a Research Associate at the University of Delaware Center for Energy and Environmental Policy. Prof. Mathai is an active member of the Future Earth Knowledge and Action Network (KAN) on Systems of Sustainable Consumption and Production and also serves as a co-chair of this KAN’s Working Group on the Political Economy of System of Sustainable Consumption and Production. His publications include Nuclear Power, Economic Development Discourse and the Environment: The Case of India (Routledge, 2013) and the co-edited volume Green Growth: Ideology, Political Economy and the Alternatives (Zed Books, 2016). He holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from Bangalore University, an M.Sc. in Wildlife Science from the Wildlife Institute of India, an MPP from the University of Maryland and a PhD in Energy and Environmental Policy, from the University of Delaware.
