Professor Sibusiso Vil-Nkomo is the Executive Dean of the Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs (TM-SCHOOL) and co-founder and Chairman of the Mapungubwe Institute for Strategic Reflection (MISTRA) a leading South African Think Tank. In 1994, Prof Vil-Nkomo was appointed by President Nelson Mandela to serve in the first democratic government as the Public Service Commissioner. He was Associate Senior Research Professor at the Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship, University of Pretoria and a former member of the Executive of the University of Pretoria and Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. He is a member of the Academy of Science in South Africa and the South African Association of Public Management and Administration which has established the Annual Prof Sibusiso Vil-Nkomo Lecture. A member of the advisory board of the Joseph R Biden Jr School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Delaware and a former Fulbright Scholar in the Department of Economics, Fordham University, USA.
