Soojin Shin has a background in environmental science and engineering and is completing a Ph.D. degree at the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy. Prior to joining CEEP, Soojin worked as a Research Fellow at the National Institute of Meteorological Research, South Korea. Her research interests include energy policy and planning, renewable energy, and energy economics. She is overseeing a comparative analysis of the building energy performance and solar PV rooftop generation potential for New York City and Los Angeles using CEEP’s ‘solar city’ and ‘saving city’ methods. The project also considers the economic feasibility of improvements in current policy and the addition of new policy strategies to assist each city’s efforts to substantially lower their carbon footprint.
